The Arbiter of Fate

A Skyrim Expedition Companion

You choose the journey. The Arbiter chooses the direction.

Expedition held in this browser · export backups regularly
Expedition next stepDiscover quests in Skyrim, then let Fate choose your assignment.
Getting Started · a quick guide to your first expedition

The Director records your decisions; it does not read or alter your Skyrim save.

Exploration is yours. Completion belongs to Fate.

Explore anywhere, speak to NPCs, discover and accept quests, and gather items freely. With optional Strict Assignment Mode on, deliberately finishing or handing in an unassigned objective must wait until Fate assigns it — including completions triggered by a known action rather than an NPC hand-in.

If Skyrim unexpectedly finishes an unassigned objective, or an assigned objective unavoidably finishes another, record that event as an exception without losing your current assignment.

  1. Create your character. Choose a race and playstyle, and save them.
  2. Choose your rules. Set Perk Focus and how much control Fate has. Magic and shouts are optional tracking systems.
  3. Check installed content. Enable only the game content you have.
  4. Discover quests. Find a quest in All and select Discover. It moves to Discovered.
  5. Ask Fate to choose. Draw from your eligible quests; complete or temporarily suspend the assigned objective when appropriate. Unverified quests require manual confirmation first.
  6. Keep a backup. Your progress saves in this browser. Export a JSON backup and keep it somewhere safe before clearing browser data, changing devices, or replacing the file.

Quest starting conditions are not all verified. Check that each objective can actually be started in your Skyrim game.

Quick Discovery

Discoveries never replace your assigned objective. Follow your expedition rules before deliberately completing an unassigned quest.

Miscellaneous Quick Discovery

Start typing for suggested Skyrim objectives, or enter one that is not listed. Recording it makes it available for Fate’s next draw when eligible; your current assignment stays unchanged.

Recent Decisions

Recent Fate decisions · assignment, perks and mercy

How the rules work

Exploration is yours: roam freely, discover and accept quests, talk to NPCs, fight and gather supplies.

Completion belongs to Fate: in Strict Assignment Mode, don't deliberately finish or hand in an unassigned quest, including by triggering a known automatic ending.

Unexpected consequences: record incidental or genuinely unavoidable completions as exceptions; the current Fate assignment continues.

Fate: one binding assignment at a time. Optional Fate's Mercy allows one deliberate replacement, rechargeable after three completed assigned objectives. Draws remain recorded in the Chronicle.

Current Build

Your saved character, current perk focus and Spellbook permissions at a glance. Starting playstyle advice does not impose equipment restrictions.

Magic & Shouts progression · focus, permissions & unlocks

This is a read-only view of your recorded Skyrim progress. Skill level, Fate permission, and whether a spell is learned are separate. Shouts remain independent of Perk Focus.

Character

More name suggestions

Generates a lore-inspired name based on the selected race. You can edit it before saving.

Race abilities & starting skills · passive traits and racial power

Unmodified Skyrim racial abilities. The values describe your in-game starting race, not extra Fate restrictions or permission to use spells. Gameplay-changing race mods may differ.

What does this playstyle mean? · weapons, armour and magic

Changing your starting playstyle does not automatically change Perk Focus. Applying the suggestion is an explicit choice and does not erase learned spells or bought perks.

Health, Magicka, Stamina and perk points

Adjust these to match your Skyrim save. They are only recorded when you select Save character details.

Level-Up Director

Skyrim increases one of Health, Magicka or Stamina by 10 per level. The Director draws from the attributes you enable.

Use Fate's decision only when you intend Fate to choose the attribute. You will see the proposed choice and confirm it before your recorded level, attribute and perk points change. If you have already updated Character details to match that level, do not record it again.

Record an in-game level without a Fate draw

For reconciling a level you already gained in Skyrim outside the Director. This adds one recorded level, +10 to the chosen attribute and one unspent perk point; it never rolls Fate. Check your current saved level first to avoid double-counting.

Progression & Fate decisions · recent changes and checks

Read-only overview of Fate's choices, manual records, and anything needing confirmation. Use the Chronicle for the complete history.

Skills & Perks

Enter your in-game skill levels and mark perks you already own. The Director draws from the 18 vanilla perk trees using skill thresholds and recorded prerequisites. Vanilla perk ranks and branching prerequisites have been reviewed; confirm results against your actual Skyrim game, especially if using gameplay mods.

Perk Focus

Choose which skill trees Fate may draw perks from. Presets are editable; only eligible perks in enabled trees can be selected. Your purchased perks remain recorded if you change focus.

How to play this focus · gear and permitted spell schools

Adjust individual skill trees

Change any of the 18 skills to make a custom focus. This also changes the default Spellbook school pool.

Spellbook follows selected spellcasting schools by default. Enchanting and Alchemy are separate skills. Use the Spellbook tab to control spell permissions.

Why can Fate choose this perk? · eligible, skill-locked & prerequisite-locked

Marking an owned perk below records what you already have in Skyrim; it does not spend or refund an unspent point. Fate-led perk purchases do deduct one point. Correct unspent points under Character details if your in-game balance differs.

v1.9.82 audit: multi-rank requirements and branching perk paths have been corrected. Previously purchased perks remain recorded even when they no longer satisfy a corrected prerequisite; the Director will not automatically remove them.

Update in-game skill levels

New level-one characters receive their saved race’s starting levels (15, 20 or 25). Continue updating skills to match the game; racial baselines are not reapplied after you have progressed.

View and correct owned perks

Quick Progression Check

Before Fate chooses a perk, compare your character level, skill levels, purchased perks and unspent perk points with Skyrim.

Skyrim is the source of truth. Reviewing or dismissing this reminder won't spend points, roll Fate or change your assignment.

Transformation Perks — Werewolf / Vampire Lord

Werewolf and Vampire Lord have separate perk trees. Earn their perk points in-game through feeding or Vampire Lord combat, then let Fate choose an available upgrade. These points do not use your ordinary level-up perks.

Update this number when Skyrim awards a transformation perk point.

Legendary skills & corrections

If you make a skill Legendary, refund its purchased perk ranks, reset that skill to 15 and add the refunded points. This tracker asks for confirmation.

Perk purchases can also be checked or unchecked above in View and correct owned perks. Legendary refunds here reflect the recorded perk ranks; confirm your in-game balance after making a skill Legendary.

Spellbook

Track spells you have learned in Skyrim and see which ones your expedition permits. This does not learn or lock spells inside the game.

Creation spell ranks were cross-checked in v1.9.77; tome availability still depends on in-game conditions. See Settings → About → Version information & recent changes for the review.

Magic readiness & coverage · optional diagnostics

Checks recorded spells and Fate rules only. Zero permitted spells may be intentional. Modded magic and equipment are not automatically detected.

The catalogue now includes quest-only and equipment-granted spells, each labelled where applicable. Vampire Lord powers, scrolls and staves are not normal spell-tome entries.

Magic Director

School restrictions are optional expedition rules. Known spells are recorded independently. Fate draws remain binding until you deliberately clear or replace them.

Optional Quest Unlocks · unlock spell ranks through completed quests

Keep this switched off for normal spellcasting. When enabled, each rule temporarily locks spells in one school from a chosen rank upwards until you record the linked quest as completed. Novice spells stay outside these rank locks. Existing school restrictions still apply. Creation spell ranks are reference guidance; verify against the game if modded.

Current progression uses recorded school skill levels, not character level. Novice spells remain available; Master spells require separate in-game verification.

Fate uses a quest already in your journal and a currently permitted school. Only one unfinished Fate-chosen quest restriction may be active at a time. Merely learning a spell never completes a quest.

Your Spells

Quick view

Select a school to see spells. Tap an individual spell for its acquisition notes, learned status and favourite controls.

Add a custom or missing spell

The catalogue is curated rather than exhaustive. Quest-only abilities, equipment-granted spells and Lesser Powers are labelled; powers do not follow school spell-rank restrictions. Add other edition-specific or modded spells here.

Dragon Shouts

Keep track of your Words of Power and the shouts you have unlocked in Skyrim. Like the Spellbook, this is a manual expedition journal; it cannot read or alter the game.

How shout tracking works

Each shout contains three words. Mark Discovered after you learn a word in-game, then Unlocked when you can actually use it. Most word unlocks consume dragon souls, but story-granted words may be unlocked for free.

Shouts are separate from the five magic schools. Perk Focus and spell restrictions do not prohibit them. The tracker does not impose extra Fate restrictions.

The standard catalogue includes 20 base-game shouts, three Dawnguard shouts and four Dragonborn shouts. Mods can introduce additional ones.

Shout and word-wall reference

Quick view

Select a content group, then tap a shout to track its three words. Discovery and unlocking are recorded separately.

Add a modded or custom shout

For content not included in the standard 27-shout catalogue.

Quest Journal

Track Skyrim quests, branching choices and cross-quest consequences. Fate chooses assignments, not your decisions, and cannot read your Skyrim journal.

Quest availability & progression review · 0 to review
Quest Relationships· 0 to review

Possible links between objectives you've recorded and named quests. Nothing here changes Fate until you confirm a connection. Review whenever convenient.

Browse quests not yet discovered. Use Discover when you encounter one in Skyrim.

Search and display filters

These filters only change the journal display. They do not change Fate's assignment rules. Legion and Stormcloak filters also include shared Civil War quests. Unclassified faction quests remain under Other / Unclassified.

Turn this off to find quests outside your Director settings. Recorded discoveries and completions remain visible regardless of those settings.

World events & NPC survival · record consequences immediately

Record an event as soon as it happens in Skyrim, even if its parent quest is unfinished or Fate has not assigned it. These records never complete a quest or consume Fate's random seed. You can correct a mistaken event later.

Use search to narrow the options, then select a quest.

Add a custom Fate-eligible quest

For full quests not in the catalogue. For Skyrim’s small Miscellaneous objectives, use the separate Misc. tab above. Both can be selected by Fate when eligible.

Suspended Quests

Not ready for a quest yet? Temporarily suspend it from its Quest Journal details. The quest stays saved, but Fate will not draw it while suspended. You can record a reason such as “Waiting until a higher level”.

Ready to try it? Find the quest below and select Resume Quest. It returns to your discovered objectives and can be picked by Fate again when its other eligibility requirements are met. You do not need to rediscover it.

Suspending your current assignment releases it so Fate can draw another objective. Suspended miscellaneous objectives are managed separately under Journal → Misc. → Suspended. Faction and story exclusions cannot be reversed with Resume Quest.

0Temporarily suspended
0Excluded by choices

Ready to resume

Excluded by faction or story choices

These quests are not temporarily suspended. The Director excludes them because of your recorded faction or story decisions. To change those decisions, use Director settings. Changing a decision cannot guarantee a quest is available in Skyrim.

The Arbiter · Quest Decisions

Discovered regular quests, recorded miscellaneous objectives and individually approved quests can be drawn when eligible. Undiscovered quests need explicit approval; the database cannot verify every quest requirement.

Eligible content

Eligible quest categories

All quests remain searchable and discoverable. These switches control what Fate may assign; deliberate quest completion follows your Expedition rules. Radiant assignments are tracked separately from faction story quests.

Fate personality

Only quest and miscellaneous assignment draws change. Perk, attribute and magic rolls are unaffected. Fate never overrides quest eligibility or your discovery-mode choices.

Objective discovery mode

Undiscovered quests must be individually approved, even in Available and Mixed modes. Unverified requirements are never assumed satisfied.

How Fate weighs my objectives · optional, read-only
Why can Fate choose this? · regular quests, miscellaneous and restrictions
Quest availability & progression review · 0 to review

Discovered quests reflect your actual Skyrim journal; mismatched pre-start records are flagged without overruling Skyrim. Individually approved undiscovered quests still need their prerequisites. Approvals can be revoked in the Quest Journal.

Fate's Mercy & mistake protection

When an assigned quest is too difficult, Mercy returns it to Fate and selects a different eligible objective. The returned quest is excluded only from that replacement draw; it may return in future assignments. Once Mercy is spent, three completed Fate-assigned objectives recharge one use.

Undo restores the saved random seed as well as the recorded result. Only the latest change can be undone. A recovery snapshot is kept in this browser when storage permits; export expedition backups separately.

Expedition rules

Exploration is always free. Discover and accept quests normally. This optional rule (OFF by default) restricts only deliberate completion of objectives Fate has not assigned — including known automatic-ending actions, not just hand-ins.

An unexpected automatic completion or an unavoidable consequence of an assigned quest can still be recorded, with the reason in the Chronicle. Player-owned story decisions remain yours.

Questline choices

Choose a side only after committing in Skyrim. Opposing quests are excluded automatically.

Other factions & organisations

These groups are generally compatible with one another. Record your membership, or mark a group as declined if you do not want its questline assigned. Undecided does not prevent joining quests from being drawn.

Assignment Control

If a quest is too difficult or you would rather wait, select Temporarily suspend quest in the Journal or Suspend assignment on the Dashboard. Resume regular quests later under More → Suspended quests. Miscellaneous objectives resume under Journal → Misc. → Suspended. Faction and story exclusions are managed separately.

Expedition readiness test

Check your current objective pool and simulate 20 draws without assigning quests, changing progression or saving anything. A rehearsal is not a guarantee that every quest can be started in Skyrim.

Extended expedition rehearsal

Simulate up to 100 consecutive quest completions on a temporary copy of your progress. The rehearsal respects recorded prerequisites, faction exclusions, category switches and discovery approvals. It does not discover or approve new quests, change your character, or save anything.

Fate integrity rehearsal

Simulate assignments alongside failures, unavoidable events, NPC deaths and level-ups, using actual quest eligibility checks in an isolated copy. This diagnostic does not issue real Fate draws or make choices for you.

Expedition Chronicle

Your recorded Skyrim expedition at a glance. These views use the existing Chronicle; they do not alter Fate, quests or your save.

How to Use The Fate Director

THE ARBITER OF FATE

A practical guide to your first expedition and the systems you'll return to later. Open only the chapters you need; none of these instructions changes your save or asks Fate to make a decision.

1. Set up your expedition · edition, race and starting build
  1. In Settings → Edition and Content, select your Skyrim edition and the content actually installed, then save. The Director cannot detect your installation.
  2. In Character, choose a race, a starting playstyle, and a name; save your character details. A new, unprogressed level-one character receives the race's standard starting skill levels.
  3. Choose a Perk Focus under Character to determine which perk trees Fate may draw from. You can fine-tune the trees; an edited preset becomes Custom.

Example: A Wood Elf choosing Stealth Archer starts with the Wood Elf skill bonuses. Adding Destruction to the focus changes it to Custom; restoring the exact original trees restores the Stealth Archer preset. Equipment suggestions are optional, not forced restrictions.

2. Decide what The Arbiter controls · quests, factions and choices

The Arbiter tab governs which quests can enter Fate's assignment pool. Choose enabled content and quest categories, select a discovery mode, then use Save Director settings. A quest must pass the recorded restrictions to be drawn. Outstanding Misc. objectives can also be drawn from their own Journal tracker when the Miscellaneous category is enabled.

Set faction loyalties only after choosing a side in Skyrim; the Director then excludes opposing questlines. An unknown quest is never made eligible merely because it appears in the catalogue: you must discover it or explicitly approve it after checking in-game availability.

Fate personalities (v2.7.0): Pure Fate picks each eligible objective equally; Balanced Fate reduces the chance of repeating the last category; Restless Fate favours categories with fewer recorded past assignments. In Mixed mode, the existing discovered/approved slider determines the pool before a personality weighs its objectives. Existing expeditions keep their earlier balanced setting.

The Arbiter can also guide level-up attributes and eligible perk draws through Character. The Survivor's Choice / Fate's Choice / Shared Control modes belong specifically to the Spellbook, not to a single global control switch.

The Arbiter records and proposes decisions; it cannot operate Skyrim for you. You choose how many of these systems to use.

3. Use the Quest Journal · discover, draw, complete or suspend

All contains undiscovered catalogue quests; Discovered holds accepted quests (including active assignments); Completed includes finished and failed quests, including branching decisions and outcome notes. Manually suspended objectives are kept under More → Suspended quests, where you can select Resume Quest when ready.

  1. When you encounter a quest in Skyrim, find it in All and choose Discover. Use search, category, faction and alphabetical filters to browse.
  2. Choose Draw Objective on the Dashboard or under Arbiter when ready. Fate chooses from the quests currently eligible under your saved rules.
  3. After resolving the objective in-game, record Complete. For a quest that actually fails in Skyrim, choose Mark failed in its expanded details. With Friends Like These... has its own Astrid outcome controls. If an objective is only temporarily unavailable, choose Temporarily suspend quest. When you are ready, open More → Suspended quests and choose Resume Quest.

The Misc. view tracks Skyrim’s smaller objectives. Outstanding entries can enter Fate’s assignment pool when the Miscellaneous category is enabled, but adding one never immediately assigns it or changes faction allegiance.

Exploration is yours; completion belongs to Fate. You can explore, talk, discover, accept quests, collect items and fight normally. Under optional Strict Assignment Mode, avoid deliberately finishing any unassigned objective, even if its known end trigger is not a hand-in. If Skyrim unexpectedly completes an objective, or your assigned mission unavoidably finishes another, choose the appropriate exception when recording it. The Chronicle preserves the reason and your current assignment stays active. World events can be recorded as they happen.

For branching quests, expand the quest card and record the outcome you chose in Skyrim. The Arbiter excludes verified opposing paths but never chooses the moral decision. You can also save an outcome note for other quests.

The catalogue cannot guarantee a quest is currently startable. Some NPC deaths and faction choices can block later quest starts; use the Cross-quest consequences panel to record them and confirm exceptions in Skyrim. Approval is your confirmation, not an automatic unlock.

4. Track character progression · levels, skills and perks

Update the saved character level and attributes to match your game. The Level-Up Director previews Fate’s permitted attribute and asks you to confirm before recording a level-up. Alternatively, record an existing in-game level without using Fate. Do not record the same level twice.

Record skill increases and purchased perks in Character → Skills & Perks. Fate uses those recorded skill levels, perk prerequisites and your Perk Focus to find eligible perk draws. Changing focus does not delete recorded purchases or learned spells. Manual owned-perk checks do not change unspent points; Fate-led purchases do. Review the Progression & Fate decisions panel for recent changes.

Racial starting skills are applied automatically only to a new, unprogressed character. For an established character, changing race preserves recorded skills unless you deliberately apply the racial starting-skill reset.

5. Spellbook and Dragon Shouts · learned versus permitted

In Spellbook, mark spells learned in Skyrim. This is separate from whether a spell is currently permitted by your expedition's optional magic rules. With Follow Perk Focus enabled, the selected magic-school pool comes from your Character focus.

Survivor's Choice lets you choose permitted schools. Fate's Choice or Shared Control lets Fate choose; after selecting either mode, press Let Fate decide to generate the binding school selection. The mode and decision save separately. Quest-linked spell locks are optional.

In Shouts, track every Word of Power as Discovered when learned and Unlocked when available for use. Shouts are not governed by Perk Focus or Spellbook permissions. Some special shouts require all three words before they work.

6. Save, back up and restore · browser data and JSON

Recorded decisions save automatically in your browser's local storage. Export expedition backup (.json) in Settings whenever you reach a meaningful milestone; keep that file somewhere safe. The export includes your character, quests, magic, shouts and Chronicle.

To move to a new downloaded HTML, browser, device or GitHub Pages site, open the destination and use Import an expedition to restore your JSON. Import replaces the destination's current expedition after confirmation, so export it first if needed.

The Chronicle records expedition decisions and provides Undo last change for the current session. Undo does not replace a separate backup. Local downloads and hosted pages may not share browser storage or synchronise automatically.

7. If something looks wrong · quick checks

No eligible objectives? Check installed content in Settings, enabled quest categories and discovery mode under Arbiter, missing prerequisites, faction allegiance and temporarily suspended quests. The Arbiter's readiness test explains the current pool.

Fate's Choice shows no new magic decision? Select the mode, then press Let Fate decide. Your focus pool still applies until a binding draw has been made.

Active quest suddenly flagged? The dashboard now shows assignment-health warnings when recorded choices affect an active objective. Check Skyrim before resolving or suspending it.

Progress missing in a newer file? Check whether you opened a different browser or file location, then restore a saved JSON backup. Saved expeditions do not automatically transfer between origins.

For version details, known limitations and release notes, see About The Fate Director below. The guide is informational only and works offline.

Edition and Content

Choose the Skyrim edition you play, then check installed expansions and Creations. This determines the Director’s content pool; it does not detect your game installation.

Changing the edition suggests initial content choices. Select Save edition and installed content to apply them.

Saving and Backups

Automatic saving: Your expedition is stored in this browser’s local storage as you make recorded decisions. It is not written into your Skyrim save file.

Keep an export: Browser storage can be cleared, blocked or isolated between browsers, devices, website addresses and local-file locations. A JSON backup is your portable copy.

How to move or restore an expedition
  1. In your current copy, select Export expedition backup and save the JSON file somewhere safe.
  2. Open the new Director HTML file, or the hosted Director page, in the browser where you want to continue.
  3. Under Import an expedition, select your saved JSON file and confirm replacing the expedition currently open there.
  4. Check your character, level, Quest Journal, Spellbook, Shouts and Chronicle. Export a fresh backup after significant progress.

A hosted page and a downloaded HTML file may use different browser-storage locations. Opening the same expedition in two locations does not automatically synchronise their changes. JSON backups are ordinary readable files; store them securely.

Import replaces the expedition in this browser after you confirm. The Director can import compatible earlier version-1 expedition backups; unsupported or malformed files are rejected. Export your current progress first.

Starting a new expedition replaces local progress and requires two confirmations. Undo is session-based and is not a substitute for a saved backup.

About The Fate Director

REVIEW BUILD · v3.2.0

Skyrim — The Fate Director is Survivor Incognito’s standalone expedition companion. The Arbiter of Fate is the name of the guiding presence behind Fate’s optional decisions, with its quest-decision controls under the Arbiter tab. You explore Skyrim; the Director helps you record progress and lets The Arbiter choose from eligible objectives and other decisions under rules you select.

Unofficial fan-made companion; not affiliated with or endorsed by Bethesda. No game files, mods or installation are required.

What Fate can control

Depending on your selections: eligible quest assignments, level-up attributes, available perk choices, and optional magic permissions. You can also track factions, discovered and completed quests, perks, learned spells, Dragon Shouts and expedition history.

What stays with the player

You choose when to accept decisions, how much authority Fate has, what you discover naturally and how faithfully to apply its suggestions. Starting playstyle equipment guidance is not an automatic restriction. The Director cannot read, edit or control your Skyrim save or game world.

Supported game content and limits

Edition choices cover Original, Legendary, Special and Anniversary Edition, with selectable DLC and Creation content. The catalogue is curated rather than an exhaustive authoritative database. Some quest start conditions, acquisitions and modded variants still need in-game confirmation; the Director deliberately requires manual approval for uncertain undiscovered quests.

Version information & recent changes

Current version: v3.2.0. Catalogue reports and correction tools are below; earlier changes remain in the version history.

Catalogue research & corrections

Reference information and technical reports live here rather than taking space in the Quest Journal. Reconciliation actions still update your expedition only when you confirm them, are saved in the Chronicle, and can be undone.

Catalogue coverage · v2.2 research and outstanding gaps
Catalogue reconciliation · duplicates, family conflicts & finite quests
Quest availability & progression accuracy · stage-dependent work and confirmed offers

v3.0.1 legacy quest review: Previously recorded v17_d01 and v17_d04 statuses remain attached to their original IDs. Their old content identities were inaccurate, so the catalogue now flags them as retired; they cannot enter new Fate draws. If either is currently assigned, check your actual Skyrim journal before resolving or suspending it. This update does not silently complete, transfer or cancel any objective.

v3.0.2 catalogue review: Old quest IDs remain valid and alias progress is shared across confirmed duplicate names. The two main-story Black Books and hidden Chrysamere encounter cannot enter new Fate draws, but any existing active assignment remains available for manual review. The full catalogue is curated rather than fully in-game verified. Seeking Disclosure can overlap with other Dawnguard main quests; record actual Skyrim transitions without attempting to complete unrelated unassigned objectives.

v3.0.4 evidence caution: The Retching Netch is an inn, not a new journal quest. The false Dragonborn speech lead is retired from new draws. Existing historical assignments remain for manual review. Published sources disagree on whether Sybille’s vampire-target location is fixed; use your in-game quest marker. Other unverified starts still require gameplay confirmation.

Quest reference verification · v3.0.4 · start evidence, not Fate permission

Catalogue entries are shown with separate evidence for quest identity and quest start. A name match is not proof that a quest can be offered. None of these checks change progress, Fate eligibility or player confirmations. Created objectives and retired aliases are marked separately.

  • v3.2.0: Added optional Fate’s Mercy (one available reroll; recharge after three completed Fate-assigned objectives), temporary quest-identity exclusion for its replacement draw, reproducible last-change Undo across refresh where browser storage permits, recent Fate decisions, and dedicated perk/level recovery controls. The existing catalogue, strict completion restrictions and expedition backup schema v1 are preserved.
  • v3.1.0: Phone-first navigation with an accessible More menu, priority assignment Dashboard, streamlined Journal reviews and collapsible Arbiter configuration. No Fate, quest, eligibility, local-storage or backup schema changes.
  • v3.0.4: Verified catalogue corrections: retired misleading Dragonborn speech-favour and Retching Netch inn identities from new draws while preserving historical IDs; corrected Silver Armour, Lover’s Requital and Frostflow miscellaneous classification; documented Ansilvund automatic-start warning and tool-defined Hearthfire homebuilding challenge. Sybille’s cave destination remains explicitly unresolved due conflicting sources. No new save schema, automatic discoveries, completed quests, or Fate rule changes.
  • v3.0.3: Reference-coverage register added to Settings without changing Fate rules, save fields or quest eligibility. The Cause, The Rising Dead, First Catch, Angler Acquaintances, Feeding the Addiction and Clean Sweep now have source-backed starting guidance. Source-name matches are explicitly distinguished from verified start conditions; all starts still depend on actual installed content and the player’s Skyrim save.
  • v3.0.2: Catalogue corrections: merged twelve previously independent title variants without deleting historical IDs; corrected repeatable radiant categories and Missing Merchant start directions; added Seeking Disclosure and Lost Legacy; placed the two main-story Black Book stages and hidden Chrysamere encounter on review-only hold, and corrected The Lost Paladin’s Forelhost location. No automatic changes to saved assignments, quest progress, Fate RNG or version-1 JSON backups. Some catalogue entries still require reference and in-game verification.
  • v3.0.1: Corrected the Dragonborn source for The Final Descent while retaining both legacy IDs; retired two invalid/duplicated Soul Cairn records without deleting previous save data or current assignments; corrected Arvak’s miscellaneous category and the Aventus Aretino quick-link spelling; clarified early main-quest starts and alternate leads. Existing Fate rules, saved RNG, Strict Assignment Mode, Chronicle and JSON schema v1 remain unchanged. Archived source-keyed metadata is retained and copied to the corrected key when needed.
  • v3.0.0: Faster screen-focused rendering, reliable save-status and storage recovery, unified Fate eligibility reasons, easier mobile next-action guidance, and on-demand structural catalogue auditing. The quest catalogue, Fate rules and version-1 expedition backups are preserved.
  • v2.9.0: Quest availability and progression review. Player-observed discoveries take precedence over incomplete catalogue pre-start completion and level data; faction exclusions, manual blocks, special hard conditions and active Fate assignments remain enforced. Quiet discrepancy review in Quest Journal and Arbiter, optional explicit Skyrim confirmation, preserved previous saves/Chronicle/Undo, and no automatic quest progression. Includes the prior v2.8.1 eligibility panel repair.
  • v2.8.1: Corrected the eligibility explanation panel so it expands and populates. No Fate rule changes.
  • v2.8.0: Expedition Chronicle overview, searchable and filtered timeline, Fate personality/category statistics, character progression view, evidence-based milestones and optional factual HTML report. All read from existing saved records; unknown historical metadata is identified rather than guessed. Existing Undo, JSON backup schema, Fate rules and quest content are unchanged.
  • v2.7.0: Three optional Fate personalities for quest/miscellaneous draws: Pure (equal odds within the selected pool), Balanced (preserves the prior last-category odds), and Restless (moderately favours categories underrepresented in the expedition's recorded assignment history). Uses the same eligibility checks, seeded RNG, assignment lock and Undo. Existing saves inherit Balanced or Pure from their legacy setting. Read-only weighting explanation, and personality-aware isolated rehearsals; no change to quest catalogue or backup schema.
  • v2.6.1: DLC coverage follow-up: 177 curated miscellaneous suggestions, adding seven verified Hearthfire land/property stages and seven independent Wild Horses taming tasks. Added three property-specific stage families (Lakeview Manor, Windstad Manor, Heljarchen Hall), with safe retention when a player edits an existing property entry into shared drafting/workbench wording. Verified DLC references shown as catalogue guidance; no automatic journal changes or Fate draws. Version-1 backup format, save key, and Strict Assignment Mode unchanged.
  • v2.6.0: Expanded the curated miscellaneous catalogue to 163 suggestions across mainland Skyrim, Solstheim, Dawnguard and Fishing Creation. Added objective types (one-time, repeatable, persistent reference-only), player-confirmed fresh repeatable offers, five reviewed multi-stage families, conservative duplicate-stage guards and quiet quest-stage relationship proposals. Pending suggestions never alter Fate; save schema v1 and strict completion exceptions preserved.
  • v2.5.0: Quiet Quest Relationships review in the Quest Journal. Curated and exact-title suggestions appear only for recorded miscellaneous objectives; optional confirm, dismiss or review-later workflow. Confirmed links reuse v2.4.3 duplicate protection, dismissed suggestions are remembered, and all suggestions remain non-binding. Existing quests, completion exceptions, assignment RNG and version-1 backup format preserved.
  • v2.4.5: Added curated, searchable miscellaneous objective suggestions to Dashboard Quick Discovery and the Miscellaneous Journal. Named-quest and miscellaneous suggestions now share Quick Discovery; suggestions never become eligible until explicitly recorded from Skyrim. Existing free-text entry, Fate draw rules, save format and current assignments are preserved. Corrected Available-mode readiness sampling to include miscellaneous objectives.
  • v2.4.4: Clarified unrestricted exploration and discovery versus deliberate quest completion under optional Strict Assignment Mode. Shared three-reason review for unexpected or unavoidable completion of unassigned regular, miscellaneous and final branch quests; prohibited deliberate completion and preserved Fate assignments. Reasons and optional notes recorded in Chronicle without a save-format change.
  • v2.4.3: Optional manual and suggested links between miscellaneous objectives and named quests; verified in-game discovery only, lead versus same-task review, duplicate-draw protection, Fate pool breakdown and clear ineligibility reasons. No automatic quest or faction decisions; 436-title catalogue and version-1 saves preserved.
  • v2.4.2: Quest Journal selector for All, Discovered and Completed quests; only one quest card shown at a time, with searches, filters and direct-current-objective links preserved. Dashboard Quick Discovery now records miscellaneous objectives with optional giver, duplicate prevention, Fate eligibility, Chronicle and backup compatibility. No changes to Fate draws or faction allegiance.
  • v2.4.1: Miscellaneous objectives can enter Fate’s pool alongside normal quests. One binding assignment at a time, with completion, suspension, category filtering, strict-mode checks, Chronicle records and version-1 save support. Recorded faction suggestions do not establish allegiance.
  • v2.4.0: Dedicated Miscellaneous objective tracker in the Quest Journal. Record the in-game objective, giver, location and notes; mark complete, reopen, edit or remove, with Chronicle history and Undo. Misc. tracking stays separate from ordinary quests and faction decisions, and is included in version-1 JSON backups.
  • v2.3.3: Level-up confirmation and separate in-game reconciliation, Fate/manual decision history, perk-lock explanations, progression review and confirmed-accounting safeguards. Cancelled draws do not consume Fate’s seed. Existing saves and 436 quest titles retained.
  • v2.3.2: Character & magic integration: cross-tab progression overview with saved skill levels, Perk Focus pool, binding school permissions and learned/permitted spell counts; one-tap school and pending-word views; clear Fate-magic-review warning; read-only integration with shout progress. No automatic unlocks, gameplay restrictions, save-schema changes or additional Fate draws.
  • v2.3.1: Expedition quality-of-life: one-tap Spellbook views for learned, learned and permitted, or learned but restricted spells; Shouts views for usable shouts and discovered words awaiting unlock; full filter resets for both trackers; direct Dashboard Shouts shortcut and a magic/shouts progress snapshot. Read-only quick views do not alter Fate draws, learned spells, word unlocks, quest identities or expedition JSON data.
  • v2.3.0: Expedition-first mobile interface: direct current-quest shortcut, quick discovered-quest views, a clear-filters action and read-only Chronicle search. Moved the legacy Catalogue Health Report into the version section. No changes to quest IDs, Fate logic, JSON backup schema or random seed.
  • v2.2.2: Moved Catalogue coverage and Catalogue reconciliation into Version information & recent changes, preserving repair controls and Undo. Added evidence-bounded Companions and Thieves Guild progression checks for approved undiscovered radiant quests, individual quest offer guidance, and a compact availability research report. Existing discovered quests and version-1 save formats preserved.
  • v2.2.1: Quest catalogue reconciliation: normalised nine conflicting legacy categories without deleting original IDs; deduplicated logical prerequisite display; added shared-offer repair, quest-specific completion guidance, offer details and finite Companions quest series. Legacy JSON and Fate permissions retained.
  • v2.2.0: Expanded individually offered base-game favours, deliveries and hold-bounty templates from the earlier research inventory; added Dreams of the Dead and the conservatively discoverable Nordic Jewelry Creation quest; new catalogue coverage and shared-favour checks. Work activities and unverified content are not auto-promoted. Existing expedition saves remain compatible.
  • v2.1.3: Quest resolution integrity: safeguards against contradictory branching completions, consistent spell-gate release on branch completions, revised assignment-health dashboard and non-destructive multi-event integrity rehearsal. Existing expedition saves and manual story decisions retained.
  • v2.1.2: Optional Strict Assignment Mode with a confirmed unavoidable-completion exception; immediate world-event recording for key NPC deaths; Volkihar spouse and post-Kindred Judgment prerequisites; preserved version-1 expedition saves.
  • v2.1.1: Cross-quest consequences for Nilsine, Narfi, Vittoria Vici, Malborn, Ahtar and Orc Blood-Kin; Falkreath property warnings and player-confirmed eligibility checks. Version label removed from the title banner; release notes remain versioned.
  • v2.1.0: Player-confirmed branching choices for Dawnguard Bloodline, Civil War Jagged Crown, Dragonborn Thirsk, Anniversary Bittercup, Paarthurnax, Tribunal and Stalhrim; generic quest outcome notes; expanded eligibility exclusions. Includes the v2.0.1 Astrid fixes.
  • v2.0.1: Dark Brotherhood Abandoned Shack decision, distinct failed-quest tracking, route-wide faction restrictions and eligible destruction objective. No change to expedition backup schema.
  • v2.0: First public release. The Arbiter of Fate identity, Arbiter tab label, expanded How to Use guide, About and backup guidance; version-1 expedition save compatibility and Fate rules retained.
  • v1.9.84: Help, version information, release notes and backup/transfer guidance; no expedition rule or save-schema changes.
  • v1.9.83: Extended multi-character regression and fixes to cosmetic RNG and cancelled/undone Fate perk draws.
  • v1.9.82: Perk requirement and Shout usability corrections.
  • v1.9.81: Racial starting skill values and levelled-character safeguards.
  • v1.9.80: Character Race Guide and quest eligibility consistency review.
  • v1.9.79–v1.9.78: Quest Journal faction filters, alphabetic sorting, mobile-friendly tab order and combined expedition testing.
  • v1.9.74–v1.9.77: Dragon Shouts, spell catalogue corrections, guidance and dashboard refinements.
Release checks & known limitations
  • Regression coverage: Historical tests refer to earlier versions; see the v3.0.4 release QA report for coverage of this review build. Run the current release regression checks before publishing.
  • Verified by the project tester: a previous-version backup imported, a character level-up saved, and that change persisted after closing and reopening Brave.
  • v3.0.1 outstanding review: the two retired Soul Cairn legacy IDs require player review if they exist in an older expedition; not every catalogue quest start has been independently verified in-game.
  • Still subject to game verification: some Skyrim/Creation quest starting conditions, alternative outcomes, spell acquisitions and modded behaviour.
  • Browser note: saving is local to the browser and storage location. Export JSON before transferring devices or switching between a local file and a hosted page.
